What do they offer?
Everything Everywhere or EE were the first 4G network to hit the UK. If you want Internet data on your phone that is SUPER fast then you will definitely need a 4G connection from EE. In addition to this, you’re smartphone must also be 4G-ready.
What are the benefits of 4G?
With 4G Internet from your mobile phone you’ll be able to experience Internet so fast that you’ll be able to seamlessly watch TV on your device, play online games, stream high definition movies and more.
I’m an existing Orange / T-Mobile customer
If you’re an existing Orange or T-Mobile customer you will also need to move to EE to experience 4G data speeds.
Is my phone 4G ready?
Most new smartphones that have been released in the past 6 months are 4G-enabled however, you should check your phones compatibility before purchasing a 4G SIM Only Contract from EE.
Some of the most common 4G phones include the iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy S7 and more
Standard, Micro and Nano SIMs are all available.
Can I get 4G in my area?
4G from EE is available across the country though not everywhere. See here to use EE’s coverage checker tool. https://explore.ee.co.uk/coverage-checker
Choosing your 4GEE SIM Only tariff
The choice of SIM Only contracts from EE can be quite daunting. There are now 12 different contracts in the 12-month category and all have varying speeds. They start at only £9.99 with speeds of up to 20Mbps. From £17.99 upwards you can get up to 60Mbps or more on their Fastest 4G plans.
All the plans offer unlimited texts and unlimited calls so there is nothing to worry about from this point of view.
The main thing to think about therefore is how much data you will need.
The cheapest EE SIM Only plan is £9.99 per month but only comes with 250MB of data. This might be enough for someone who wants to test out 4G or doesn’t use a lot of data but is definitely not good enough if you surf the web, stream video and more.
As mentioned on their website there are several great reasons to choose EE including:
- Superfast 4G speeds
- Discounted fibre broadband (savings of up to £120)
- 6 Months FREE Access to BT Sport App
- 6 Months FREE Access to Apple Music
- Use your phone for tethering
- Use WiFi on the London Underground (Provided by Virgin Media)
- Use BT Wi-Fi hotspots

SIM Only Contracts' top tip:
Our editor says:
I don’t think that the cheaper tariffs are worth getting as they simply don't offer enough data. This doesn’t really justify getting a 4G plan. Go big or go 3G, I say.
1GB might be enough for some users but if you're like me, use a lot of apps, surf the net and stream You Tube videos then go for at least 3GB. This would be more than enough to have a great experience using 4G data and really put your SIM Only to good use.
I like: There are plenty of nice extras for being an EE customer as mentioned above and being able to tether mobile Internet to your other digital devices on-the-go is big plus. Like all good networks they will also remind you if you are nearing your data limit.
I don’t like:
The monthly price plans are still expensive when compared to their rivals and I don’t expect prices to be dropped further any time soon. EE also charge 25p per minute for customer service calls via 150.
