All Virgin tariffs come with a minimum of unlimited texts - on average, that’s over 83 texts per day! Your choice of plans are from a selection of 1-month contracts whereby you can keep your phone to get better value for money! New tariffs include unlimited web access and tailored deals for BlackBerry users.
Virgin previously offered both 30-day and 12-month contracts but now look to give customers even greater value through their 30 day contracts. With a Virgin SIM Only deal you’re guaranteed to get one of the best plans for your mobile phone. And with a wide choice of SIM Only plans, there’s bound to be one that’s exactly what you’re after. Then take advantage of some of the exclusive SIM deals that are available via the Virgin website. There are very good tariffs on offer, from just £5 p/mth. Even if you aren't, Virgin Mobile’s SIM Only deals are still some of the cheapest around. Their basic £7 p/mth contract includes 150 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data – perfect if you use your mobile for quick calls and prefer messaging. Are you an iPhone or BlackBerry user?
Virgin has introduced BlackBerry packages that include between 1GB and unlimited data, with BB services such as BlackBerry email and messenger, and unlimited texts too. These plans start from just £7.
The data packages are very generous on all of Virgin's SIM Only deals and you can get unlimited data from as little as £15 p/mth. Virgin Mobile Nano SIM for iPhone 5 / 5s and 5c

With one of the cheapest unlimited data packages for £15 a month on a 30-day contract, Virgin surely offers best overall calls, texts and data deal available today.
Virgin do have an acceptable and fair usage policy in place to prevent abuse of their mobile network against things like peer to peer file sharing. For customers joining after June 25th 2012 there is an excessive limit policy of 3.5GB per month, at which point your data connection will be throttled down to 3G speeds of 384kbit/s. After the calendar month has ended then your speed will return to normal.
If you choose to go for an unlimited data SIM only then you won't be charged anything extra for exceeding their fair usage policy however, if you do go over your allowance on a capped tariff then you will be charged up to £15 per GB of data used.
With regards to tethering
, or sharing your mobile Internet connection with other devices, Virgin Media do not allow this and this is explicitly mentioned in their terms of service. In reality, most of you won't be restricted by the fair usage policy or the rule on no tethering. If you do require tethering then we recommend going for The One Plan on Three
or a high-end tariff on O2
who also include it within their data allowances. You can read more on tethering here
SIM Only Contract’s top tip:
For just £12 p/mth, Virgin has a great all-round plan with 1200 minutes of cross network talk time, unlimited texts and 1GB of web data. That’s enough for regular calls to friends and family and more than enough data to surf the web, check emails and use your favourite social networking websites too.
Our editor says:
With a Virgin SIM Only, you get the same great monthly mixes of talk time and texts as that of their contract deals, you can talk and text to any UK network in the UK anytime, and you’re not tied in to a long-term 12-month contract like other SIM Only networks offering the same value.
I like: With Virgin, you can roll over unused minutes to the next month for one month. If you're an existing Virgin customer you can also get one of the cheapest SIM only deals in the UK for just £5 p/mth.

I don’t like: When mobile operators describe data allowances as "unlimited" we want them to actually be unlimited, no caps and I believe they should include tethering too!
