Choosing your SIM Only:
What do they offer?
T-Mobile has some great deals on pay monthly SIM Only contracts, with plenty of talk-time and texts. No long-term contracts (minimum 30 days) and no need to change your phone. It’s a win-win situation!
The bad news is that T Mobile no longer offers flexible boosters. The good news is that they now give you call allowances to your family and friends on T-Mobile! Although you won’t be entitled to a data package on standard tariffs, you should get 5000 free texts with most of them.
Do you hate going over your allowance? Then the news gets better still. T-Mobile now offers U-Fix: a fixed cost SIM Only option on 30-day contracts. It works just like PAYG – once you’ve reached your limit, just top up. With 500MB of data included free, U-Fix is good value compared to other T-Mobile plans.
One point to note: T-Mobile uses a combi SIM containing a standard SIM card and micro SIM. If you have the iPhone 5, you’ll need to request a nano SIM instead.
What about Internet?
T-Mobile is the only network to charge a fixed price with no limits when using the Internet for browsing and email. However, there’s a cap for streaming video content, uploading and downloading files. Hit the limit and you’ll have to wait until next month to use these again.
Are you a Smartphone or Blackberry user? Simply choose a standard plan and add an Internet package to use both BlackBerry Internet and Mail services.
If you need data, just add an Internet booster to your package by choosing one of these packages:
- Basic (250MB for £2)
- Standard (750MB for £5)
- Extra (1.5GB for £10)
- Super (5GB for £19).
SIM Only Contract’s top tip:
The most popular T-Mobile SIM Only contract gives you 300 mins + 5000 texts + FREE Flexible booster for just £8 p/mth. Add an Internet booster for £2.50 p/mth and you’ll get 250MB to upload and download content with.
Our editor says:
T-Mobile customer experience and services are second to none - get help including Twitter, calling 150 or via their forums. Managing your account is also easy via My T-Mobile and with apps for Android and iPhone.
There are limited time-only discounts on selected plans including The Full Monty. This gives you unlimited talk, texts and data for just £21 p/mth on a 12-month contract.
The Good and the Bad
I like: T-Mobile is one of the best networks in the UK. Its recent partnership with Orange - Everything Everywhere - means greater coverage and access high speed Internet through 3G.
I don’t like: T-Mobile doesn’t offer much by way of promotions like Orange and Vodafone do. Their best incentive is their Recommend a Friend bonus. Get a friend or family member to join and you’ll both receive a £25 gift voucher.
