Telecoms distributor Gamma Telecom who last year launched a mobile virtual network under 3 mobile have now launched a SIM-only propositions that will allow Gamma Mobile SIMs to be used in any 3G mobile handset. This is opposed to the current list of 3 approved mobiles restricted usage. This now means the number of handsets support by Gamma Mobile is significantly increased allowing dealers and resellers to capture more of the mobile market.
This SIM-only offer from Gamma Mobile launches at time when consumers are searching to get the most value for money.
The Gamma SIM only SIM can be used in all 3G mobile phones as well broadband dongles and PDA allowing both data and voice functionality. With Gamma MVNO running on the 3 network, this offers consumers unparalleled 3G broadband speeds and the widest 3G network.
For resellers and dealers the benefits of the Gamma SIM-Only are that they will directly own the customer. This in turn allows them to build value to their customers and puts them in control of the price and profit they make on SIM-Only sales.
Demand for SIM only products has grown significantly over the last year and represents shift in the market to short term contracts. In a more recent report by Ofcom it was found that there was a 14% increase in the first quarter of this year. In addition to this there was also a rise in subscriptions to 24 month contracts as the networks offer more value through loyalty from their customers.
Customers normally want to choose their mobile device before they choose their price plan or they may have an existing device that is locked to a particular network. The SIM-only deals that Gamma offer through resellers will now allow customers to do this more freely
