Opting for a SIM only contract that is around the £10 mark is the most efficient way to reduce the cost of your mobile phone contract and save money. There are currently several very attractive offers on 1 and 12 month contracts.
For greater value for money we recommend opting for a 12 month contract where you can get 200 more minutes than the 1 month rolling contracts. Ultimately this will depend on whether you will actually use the extra call time but it's always good to have a bit extra than too little for those occassion where you may exceed your allowance.
With most of the tariffs you can get 3000 or more texts however we think that for most people who are opting for this price range, it is likely that you will have more than enough texts with a package that offers 500+ free messages. However, as mentioned, more is always better.
Pick of the bunch
One of the best deals at this moment is the £10 SIM only contract from Three Mobile on a 12 month term. This is a fantastic plan for all customers but in particular those who use the Internet as it is the only tariff that offers data in this price range. The amount of data is also an attraction as 1GB is more than enought for most smartphone users. This coupled with the UK's widest 3G coverage makes a super combination.
It's also worth pointing out the 3 Months Half Price offer from Vodafone. Here you save £16.50 on your contract and this averages out to just over £9 through the year. It isn't quite enough to maybe get data add-on to the package but there is a saving to be made and for a limited time only.
Also, don't forget that T-Mobile offer a FREE flexible booster on their Fixed plans including either data, unlimited texts or unlimited landline so this could be a crucial factor in finding the right SIM only for your needs!
